Recorded Media Streaming

This service allows you to broadcast a pre-recorded audio and video media over the internet. Our server is mainly set up to support live media streaming but can also be used to broadcast a pre-recorded medium. The difference between our recorded media hosting service and that of other streaming companies is that your audio and video files are not stored on our servers but are broadcasted live from your PC using an encoding software called WINAMP.

What do I need to get started?

1. A simple PC.
2. Encoding software (iHostMedia will provide this software for free).
3. Method of connecting your live feed to the PC (Sound card or video card).
4. A Reliable Internet connection.
5. iHostMedia streaming account.

How does it work?

The encoding software will be installed on your PC, which will then become your live streaming encoder. The live feed or broadcast will be connected to this PC through a audio/video card generally installed in the PC. This encoding software will then "convert" (encode) your live signal to be sent out to the iHostMedia streaming platform through a secure connection. From there iHostMedia will rebroadcast this signal to as many of an audience as you want or need.
